Commissions

Searching for the right painting can be hard

I am here to make it a little bit easier.

I love to do commissions because I want you to get the right painting for the right place and I take care to ensure this happens

Once you have looked at all my paintings, you may have decide that you really like the style or content of one but it’s not the right size. Maybe you have a sofa in a certain colour and want the painting to complement it.

There are all sorts of reasons why commissioning me will help you get an artwork you can love for years.

The process

Identify what it is you need or want:

  1. Measure the space you have in mind and think about the kind of framing you like, or already have in your home.

  2. Think about colours and existing decor

  3. Look at the subject matter. Is there a particular place you love? Do you love one of my paintings already?

  4. Once you have thought about this, get in touch and we can chat it through.

  5. There is no obligation to continue at this stage. We’ve just had a nice discussion and that will help you clarify what you are looking for.

  6. I will give you a price for the painting

  7. If you decide you’d like to go ahead, we can fill in a form and I will take a deposit. This is for 30% of the final agreed price.

  8. Once the painting is ready, I will invite you over to see it in my studio or I can come to your home if its nearby.

  9. What if you don’t like it? This is the question that haunts people and makes them think twice about commissioning. My simple answer is that if you don’t, I will refund 50% of your deposit for materials and that’s the end of it.

  10. This has never happened and I am sure you will get the painting you want.

    EXAMPLE: I quote £350 for the Painting. I take 30% deposit = £105.00

You don’t want the painting ( Unlikely! ) so you get back 50% = £52.50

(This sum covers my costs for materials and time spent)
